NYSC 2026 Revalidation and How to Apply [Batch A, B & C]
NYSC 2026 Revalidation and How to Apply [Batch A, B & C]
Every year, the National Youth Service Corps mobilizes eligible Nigerian graduates for national service. However, not everyone who receives a call up letter eventually reports to camp. Some miss camp due to personal reasons, while others arrive but cannot complete registration.
That is where NYSC revalidation becomes important.
This guide explains what revalidation means, who needs it, how it works, and how to apply without stress.
What Is NYSC Revalidation?
NYSC revalidation is the process that allows Prospective Corps Members who were deployed in a previous batch but did not report to camp to register again.
It gives you another chance to be posted in a new batch without starting a fresh registration.
In simple terms, revalidation tells NYSC that you are now ready to serve and would like to be mobilized again.
Revalidation is not the same as remobilization. Remobilization is for those who already started service but did not complete it.
Who Needs NYSC Revalidation?
You need to revalidate if you fall into any of these categories:
- You Were Mobilized but Did Not Go to Camp
You completed registration, received your call up letter, but could not report to camp due to health issues, financial problems, or personal emergencies.
- You Deferred Your Posting
You intentionally postponed service to join a later batch.
- You Missed Camp Registration
You arrived late or did not check your dashboard in time to print your call up letter.
- You Had Incomplete Documents
You reported to camp but were not registered because you did not present required documents such as your certificate or statement of result.
- You Need to Correct Your Details
If there are errors in your name, graduation date, or other academic records that require correction by your institution, you may need to revalidate after fixing them.
If you have never registered or have never been mobilized before, revalidation does not apply to you.
How Does NYSC Revalidation Work?
In many cases, the process is automatic. NYSC may simply move you to the next batch without you doing anything.
However, there are situations where you must revalidate manually on the NYSC portal. This option is only available when online registration is open for a new batch.
How to Apply for NYSC Revalidation
Follow these simple steps when registration begins:
- Visit the official NYSC registration portal during an active registration period.
- Click on the mobilization section.
- Select the Revalidation option instead of starting a fresh application.
- Log in using the email address and password you used during your previous registration.
Once completed, your old call up number will be removed and replaced with a new one for the upcoming batch. This may take some time, so be patient.
The process is simple and can be done using your smartphone.
Important Update
Previously, some candidates could revalidate within the same batch stream. However, recent changes mean revalidation now works between batches only. If you miss a batch, you will likely be moved to the next one before receiving another call up letter.
Revalidation vs Remobilization
Many people confuse these two terms, but they are different.
Revalidation
For Prospective Corps Members who were deployed but did not complete camp registration.
Remobilization
For corps members who started service but did not complete the service year due to absence, health reasons, or other approved circumstances.
Remobilization requires a formal application and approval from NYSC. In most cases, remobilized corps members do not repeat orientation camp.
If you completed the three week orientation course but did not finish service at your Place of Primary Assignment, you need remobilization, not revalidation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is NYSC Revalidation Free?
Yes, it is completely free. You can complete the process yourself without visiting a cyber cafe.
Can I Choose Another State During Revalidation?
No. You cannot select a preferred state when revalidating. NYSC will assign you a state based on its deployment system.
If you strongly prefer a particular state, you may need to explore relocation or direct posting options after deployment.
Can I Revalidate More Than Once?
Yes. As long as you have not been fully registered in camp or completed service, you can revalidate in another batch.
Will My Details Change After Revalidation?
Your personal details will remain the same. However, your call up number will change because each batch has a unique number.
Can I Change My Photo or Documents During Revalidation?
No. If you have serious issues that require corrections, visit the NYSC secretariat in your state for assistance.
NYSC revalidation gives you another opportunity to serve if you missed camp in a previous batch. The process is simple, free, and only available when a new registration period begins.
If you did not report to camp during your last deployment, there is no need to panic. Revalidate when the portal opens and prepare properly for your next call up.
