NYSC Clarifies Date of Birth Correction Process for Prospective Corps Members – Nysc 2025
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued an important clarification to prospective corps members (PCMs) regarding the correction of date of birth details on its registration portal..
According to the NYSC, the option to apply for a Date of Birth correction using WAEC results and a WAEC verification PIN will only become available after call-up numbers have been issued. The absence of the correction icon on some dashboards is simply because call-up numbers have not yet been released.
The NYSC urged prospective corps members to remain calm and assured them that once their call-up numbers are available, the portal will automatically reflect the Date of Birth correction option.
In the meantime, PCMs are advised to:
- Regularly check the NYSC portal for updates on the release of call-up numbers.
- Verify and update their profile details to ensure accuracy.
- Gather the necessary documents required for the correction application, including WAEC results (at least 4–5 years old) and a WAEC verification PIN.
Once call-up numbers are released, PCMs should:
- Log in to their NYSC dashboard using their registered email and password.
- Click on the “Date of Birth Correction” link.
- Enter the required details as prompted.
- Submit the application and await verification.
The NYSC also reminded PCMs to complete all corrections promptly to avoid delays or complications during the service year.
For the latest updates, PCMs are encouraged to keep an eye on the official NYSC website and verified social media platforms.
